ADV Films to distribute Sentai Filmworks new license: Ten no Haoh (Fist of the North Star spin-off)

ADV Films to distribute Sentai Filmworks' new license acquisition, Satelight (Aquarion, Noein, Basquash) animation studio's 13 episode Hokuto no Ken Raoh Gaiden: Ten no Haoh, a Fist of the North Star spin-off. ADV Films will be handling localization, production and distribution of the series and it will be released under the title Legends of the Dark Kings: A Fist of the North Star Story.

In describing the title to ADV Nation, ADV Films' spokesperson Chris Oarr said, "Legends of the Dark Kings is a great show in its own right as well as an exciting chapter in the FOTS mythos. It follows the story of Ken’s big brother Raoh, another master of Hokuto Shinken. Raoh’s story takes place before the events of the original Fist of the North Star, and it’s every bit as action packed."

Legends of the Dark Kings: A Fist of the North Star Story will be released on September 15, 2009 in a complete English-subtitle box set containing all 13 episodes and will retail for $39.98. RightStuf has recently added the title for pre-order availability for $29.99 - other retailers are expected to add the title in the near future.
